So I had been in treatment for nearly a year and was coming to the end of my time at Yeldall Manor, I had a slip and had a drink and used and consequently was asked to leave the treatment centre which left me in a situation where I had nowhere to go, I knew of Hope House and I knew of people that had been there as well.  Prior to being asked to leave the treatment centre I was adamant that Hope House was not for me but the situation I had left myself in didn't leave me many options, I knew Jim and Heather from Hope House through the church I was doing voluntary work at, I then had an interview with them and discussed where I was at and what would be expected of me, I was hesitant to say the least but it’s the best thing I could have done and the time I spent there has served me well and opened doors and has helped me progress onto the next stage in my recovery.

Being at Hope House gave me continued routine and support which I needed I had regular counselling and good people around me.   I engaged with things that I wouldn't have before and I was able to widen my network of support through the church and from groups that I attended.  I have nothing but gratitude for Hope House for helping me when I needed it and all the support and understanding that was given to me.  I left there nearly a month ago into a 2 bed flat with another friend in recovery and for me that is the next part of my journey.
